About this tool

Fake Code Editor is a free online fake screen simulator. Mimic VS Code file tree terminal code autocomplete interface. Prank your friends with convincing fake screens. It runs entirely in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.

After opening it, a complete VS Code interface is presented: the left file tree, the code editing area with syntax highlighting in the middle, the bottom terminal panel and the status bar are all available. The code can be pre-filled, and the theme can be switched to light or dark., the look and feel are almost no different from that of a real editor. To play "Changing Code", just open it full-screen.

The editor is a front-end simulation that does not actually run or modify any code, nor does it save files; it recovers when the page is closed. To make it more similar, you can make the terminal "execute" a fake command, or fake "3 Lint errors" in the status bar to create a busy feeling during debugging.

It is suitable for office workers to perform the focused attitude of "I'm writing code". It is also often used as interface material for technical demonstrations, or a framing screen for programmers 'work in movies and movies, making the daily life of "typing code" visible; novices can also use it to familiarize themselves with the layout of the editor.

Reminder: A fake editor can support a temporary personality, but don't use it to pretend to work progress or avoid delivery for a long time; it can be blocked occasionally, but real skills still rely on real code. Sooner or later, colleagues will discover "why is the code silent?"

The fake VS Code editor reproduces the code editing area, file tree and terminal panel, and scams the syntax highlighted code during it, the best props set by busy programmers.
