About this tool

Fake Linux Login is a free online fake screen simulator. Simulate Linux terminal login with username and password. Prank your friends with convincing fake screens. It runs entirely in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.

After opening it, there is a pure Linux terminal login interface: white words on a black background, a flashing cursor, and "login: " and "Password: " prompts appear in turn. Anything you enter will be silently rejected or prompted incorrectly. The style is completely consistent with the real server login. The host name can be customized to any server address, and even the "Last login" timestamp can be forged.

The interface is a front-end simulation that will not actually try to log in to any system, nor will the characters you enter be recorded; press F11 or Esc to exit. If you want to act professionally, you can open a fake terminal next to you to cooperate, type a few "non-existent commands", or just stop at the password entry step when colleagues pass by.

It is suitable for deceiving colleagues to create the illusion that "he is operating a server". It is also often used as a viewfinder interface for operation and maintenance/hacking scenarios in movies and television, or as a material for technical teaching demonstrations of terminal login forms, allowing laymen to experience the "command-line interface".

Reminder: Don't use it to pretend to be the login page of a real server to retrieve other people's account and password. That is a clear phishing behavior; jokes are limited to role-playing between friends, and explaining that it is fake while demonstrating, but you can also popularize the principle of terminal login.

The fake Linux login terminal reproduces the classic "login: " prompt on a black background, and no password you enter will be able to log in, making people next to you think you are really typing Linux commands.
