About this tool
Fake Windows Update is a free online fake screen simulator. Simulate Windows update screen to prank your friends. Prank your friends with convincing fake screens. It runs entirely in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.
It uses pure CSS animations and JavaScript state machine drivers to replicate all stages from "downloading updates","installing updates" to "configuring Windows", including circling animations, percentage progress bars, and the classic sentence "Please don't shut down the computer." Open the page and automatically enter the full screen, the progress bar slowly climbs, and system prompts and fake restart screens will be interspersed halfway. You don't have to do the whole process, and the whole "system upgrade drama" will be completed.
The entire page is purely front-end simulation, and will not really download any patches or change your system files; turning off the tab page or pressing Esc / F11 to exit will restore the original state, with zero impact on the real device. Before the presentation, it is recommended to mute or lower the system volume first to avoid abrupt prompts; to be more realistic, you can zoom the page to 125%, so that the window ratio is closer to the real system update.
In addition to teasing among friends, it is also often used as a program effect in Short Video and live broadcast rooms-such as taking a funny clip of "the computer is stuck in update"; it can also be used as a natural excuse to leave, or use a large-screen projection to create a shocking moment of "the computer crashes" at a party to maximize the fun of teasing "the audience is present."
It is suitable for occasions where you want to create a relaxed laugh, but please avoid using it when the other person is rushing to deadline, giving a presentation, or waiting for important results to avoid causing real anxiety. Like all spoof tools, the measure of the joke is more important than the effect-the complete ending is the initiative to expose it after the performance and turn the "scare" into a "joke".
Fake Windows Update is an online spoof tool that reproduces the Windows 10/11 system update interface in a 1:1 manner. The complete process animation from "downloading updates" to "configuring Windows" is realistic enough to make it look real, suitable for trickery, live streaming effects or creating reasons to leave.
